Quiz mode only knows right and wrong
Google Forms can mark a question correct or incorrect. It can't say that "Over $5,000" is worth 10 points, "$1,000 to $5,000" is worth 5, and "Just researching" is worth 0.
So you export the responses and build lookup formulas, or you read each one and score it by hand. Answer Points does that scoring for you, in the form you already use.
How it works
- Set points. Open Answer Points from the add-ons menu in your form. It lists every multiple choice, dropdown, checkbox, linear scale and grid question. Type a number next to each option. Negative and decimal points are fine.
- Turn on auto-scoring. The add-on creates a Scores sheet in your Drive. Each new response becomes a row: submitted time (UTC), email (if your form collects it), total, max, percent, points per question and response ID.
- Score what you already have. Click "Score existing responses" to add every earlier response to the sheet.

A lead who picks "Over $5,000" and "This month" scores 20 out of 20. A small budget with no timeline scores 0. Sort the Scores sheet by Total and call the top rows first.
Self-assessments and Likert scales
Put 10 statements in one multiple-choice grid with columns from Strongly disagree (1) to Strongly agree (5). Column points apply to every row, so you type 5 numbers once and the max is 50.
Checkbox points add up. Linear scales default to their own values, so a 1-to-5 scale scores 1 to 5 without extra typing. For reverse-worded statements, use a second grid with the points flipped.
What it doesn't do
- It can't show a score or a personalized result screen to respondents after they submit. Google doesn't let add-ons change what respondents see.
- It can't send respondents to different sections based on their score.
Scores live in your Sheet. Emailing each respondent a result based on their score is planned for Pro.

FAQ
Is it really free?
Yes. During beta there's no response limit. After beta, the free plan will score 100 responses per month.
Can respondents see their score after they submit?
No. Google doesn't let add-ons change what respondents see, so there's no result screen and no score-based section routing. Scores go to your Sheet. Result emails are planned for Pro.
Do respondents need to install anything?
No. Only you, the form owner, install the add-on. Respondents fill in your form as usual.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere new. The add-on runs on Google Apps Script inside your Google account. Responses and scores are never sent to or stored on our servers. It can see and edit only the form you open it in and the spreadsheets it creates. Details are in the privacy policy.
Does it change my form or my responses?
No. Your questions and responses stay as they are. Point settings are saved inside the form, and scores go to a separate sheet, not your linked responses sheet.
What if I change the points later?
New responses use the new points. Click "Score existing responses" to rescore everything already submitted.
How does the price compare?
The established option costs $38+/month. Answer Points is free during beta, and Pro is planned at $9/month.
Can I get category scores?
